Bipasha had a dream to pursue and complete medicine and take on the profession of doctor. But as fate decides the life she incidentally stepped into modeling and then later on transformed as an actress.
Bonny pursued her higher secondary education at Bhavan’s Gangabux Kanoria Vidya Mandir in Kolkata. Then she took her admission in the Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society College which was affiliated to the Kolkata University.
While pursuing her studies she took up modeling as a source for her pocket money and since she was repugnance towards dissection of rats and earthworms her doctor studies were left behind and made her opt Accountancy.
In the year 1996, Bips took part and won in the Godrej Cinthol Supermodel Contest on the advice of Mehr Jessia who is a mentor to her.
Bipasha Basu is presently dating John Abraham since the year 2002. Previously, she used to date bollywood model turned actors Milind Soman and Dino Morea.

In the year 2006, Bipasha was seen as an item babe in the movie Omkara which had Ajay Devgan and Kareena in the lead. Bips danced and gyrated for the song Beedi Jalayale which was a super hit item number in north India and especially the mass crowds in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and down in Mumbai enjoyed the song the most.
RACE was the movie which released in the year 2008 which had Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Khanna, Katrina Kaif, Sameera reddy and Anil Kapoor in the lead.
